ExchangeRate
Updated
A dated rate of one Currency to the base currency. Pairs convert through the base: from.RateToBase / to.RateToBase. The base is whichever currency carries rate 1; it is not a setting.

Currency, RateToBase, and EffectiveFrom are required. ID comes from ExchangeRateSeq, which starts at 1000 and steps by 1. Rate to base is how much of the base currency one unit of this currency is worth. It must be greater than zero.
Empty Effective to leaves the window open. Effective to must not be before Effective from. Windows of one currency must not overlap: the rate on a date is one row. Gaps between windows are lawful; a date with no window has no rate.
On create, empty Currency and an empty Effective from are filled from record defaults when those defaults are set.
Documents stamp a decimal ExchangeRate from this dictionary. They do not store a reference to the row. There are no commands. This dictionary writes no register.
A bank or central-bank feed is not in the product. A missing window is not a zero rate: posting that needs a factor treats zero as a refusal.
Who references this#
No object stores a reference to an ExchangeRate row. JournalEntry, cash documents, and money documents stamp field ExchangeRate from the window that covers the document date.
