Create a position
Updated
Create a position when a job title needs pay rates that employees and payroll will use.
Note
There is no extra button after Save. Saving posts no pay. Payroll reads Hourly rate and Monthly salary later.
How to#
To create a position, open Ribbon → HR → Dictionaries → Positions.
Press New. Fill Name and Hourly rate. Monthly salary can stay empty. Neither rate may be negative. Save. The card receives an ID and the row appears in Positions. Pay stays as it is.
Empty or 0 Monthly salary keeps hourly pay: hours × Hourly rate. A filled Monthly salary prorates by hours / weekday hours of the time sheet period.
Then open Ribbon → HR → Dictionaries → Employees and pick this Position on the person who holds the job. Payroll still waits for an Approved time sheet.
Example
The stand already has Warehouse operator (Hourly rate 32, Monthly salary 5,200).
- Name Night packer
- Hourly rate 25
- Monthly salary empty
Save. Ten hours at 25 pay 250. The same ten hours on Warehouse operator in a 40-hour week pay 1,300 — a share of 5,200, not 32 × 10.
Tip
Fill Monthly salary when the job is salaried for a full standard period. Leave it empty or 0 when pay should stay hours × Hourly rate.
