Invite someone
Updated
Give a person a role in Lifecycle Portal so they can see the tenant, ship a package, or only read.
Note
This is not Grant a role on the office stand. Portal roles are Owner, Release manager, Developer, Viewer. Only an Owner invites and changes those roles. A tenant always keeps at least one owner.
The portal is lcp.getzulo.com. Its buttons are in English.
What each role may do (as the portal lists them):
- Owner — everything below, plus the tenant's people and roles, the two-person rule, stopping and starting production.
- Release manager — marks packages Ready for production and releases them; CI credentials; backups and restores; resets environment passwords; restarts production.
- Developer — deploys, refreshes and deletes Test and Development; uploads packages and installs them there; reads logs; opens the workspace on Development.
- Viewer — reads environments, packages, releases and their history. Changes nothing.
A Developer or Viewer can be limited to some Projects: their role there, Viewer on production, nothing of the others. None ticked — the whole tenant.
How to#
To invite someone, sign in at lcp.getzulo.com as an Owner. Open People and roles.
Under Invite someone, fill E-mail (the address they sign in with). They need no account first: the invitation waits for that address, and their first sign-in takes it up. Pick Role. Optionally tick Only these projects for Developer or Viewer. Press Invite. The row shows invited — not signed in yet until they do.
To change a role later, pick it in the Role column and press Change. To take access away, Remove… then Remove — that address loses every environment of the tenant. You cannot remove yourself.
Example
[email protected]- Role Release manager
Invite. Alex signs in at lcp.getzulo.com once. They can Mark Ready for production on a package they did not upload.
Tip
A CI credential acts as the person who created it, with that person's role. It still cannot mark Ready.
If the command refuses#
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| No Invite someone form | This login is not an Owner. Ask an Owner. |
| Refused after Invite | Check the e-mail. The address must be the one they use at login. |
| Cannot Remove on your own row | A tenant keeps at least one owner. Invite another Owner first if you must leave. |
