Confirm operations

Updated

On a Released production order, mark the shop-floor operations. Confirmed minutes can add labour to the finished product. The order stays in work until you finish it.

Note

Confirming an operation does not receive the product and does not write the components off. Release to shop and Finish production do that — Run a production order. An order whose operations are not confirmed costs materials alone.

How to#

To confirm operations, open Ribbon → Production → Documents → Production orders. Open an order in Released. The Operations rows are editable on that card.

Fill Actual minutes, Completed on, and Operator on the rows that ran, then Save. An operation counts as confirmed by Completed on, not by the minutes: zero minutes with a date is a done operation too.

To close every row that is not yet confirmed at standard time, press Confirm operations. It fills Actual minutes from Setup minutes plus Run minutes, and stamps Completed on. Pressing it again leaves confirmed rows alone: a time corrected by hand and the chosen Operator both survive.

The product stays out of stock. Work in progress still holds the order. Press Finish production when the output should arrive — that path is on Run a production order.

The state on the card does not confirm the operations. Confirm operations, or a filled Completed on that you save, does. Until then the rows stay open, however many times you save the rest of the card.

Example

You finished 5 pieces. The row has Actual minutes 90 and the work center Hourly rate is 120. 90 minutes is 1.5 hours × 120 = 180 labour + 100 materials = 280. Finish production then costs the product 280.

Amount
Materials 100
Labour 1.5 × 120 180
Product cost 280

If that row names an Operator whose position Hourly rate is 300, labour is 1.5 × 300 = 450 and the product costs 100 + 450 = 550.

Tip

Confirm operations is a shortcut for a shift where actual equals standard. Type a different Actual minutes on the row when the shift disagreed. Rates are empty by default: labour starts the day someone fills Hourly rate on the operator's position or on the work center, then confirms a shift. Materials move cost (out of raw stock and into the product). Confirmed labour adds cost: payroll is already accrued, and Finish production posts the absorbed part to Labor absorbed account in Accounting → Settings → Accounting settings. Schedule operations and Replan shop are also on Released; they plan days, they do not mark the work done. If Operations is empty, give the product a routing in Ribbon → Production → Dictionaries → Routings and press Expand bill of materials on a Draft.

If the command refuses#
