Create a delivery route

Updated

Create a delivery route when sales orders and delivery trips need a morning path: a name, an optional depot and crew, and ordered outlets. Saving the route stores that path; it does not start a trip.

Note

Save writes no trip. Stops are not lines on this card. After you save the route, add them under Ribbon → Sales → Dictionaries → Route stops. The van still leaves on a delivery trip — Run a delivery trip. An outlet must already exist — Create a customer outlet.

How to#

To create a route, open Ribbon → Sales → Dictionaries → Delivery routes.

Press New. Fill Name. Depot, Default vehicle, Default driver, and Arrive radius, m can stay empty. Leave Disabled empty so the route is live. Save. The card receives an ID, and the row appears in Delivery routes. No trip is created, and no stop is created.

Name is required, up to 256 characters. Depot is a store. Default vehicle and Default driver are the crew a later trip can copy. Zero Arrive radius, m does not check how far the actual pin sits from the planned pin.

Then open Ribbon → Sales → Dictionaries → Route stops. The list caption is Route stops. Press New. Pick Route — the card you just saved. Fill Sequence with a number greater than zero. Pick a live Outlet. Dwell, min, Window from, min, and Window to, min can stay empty or zero. Latitude and Longitude can stay empty or zero: both zero means the stop has no pin. Leave Disabled empty so the stop is live. Save. The stop receives an ID, and the row appears in Route stops. Repeat for the next outlet, with a new Sequence.

Then open Ribbon → Sales → Documents → Delivery trips. On a new trip, pick this Route.

Example

On Delivery routes:

  • Name East Riyadh evening run
  • Depot Riyadh Central Warehouse
  • Default vehicle Toyota Hiace van, Plate RUH 7310
  • Default driver Ahmed Fathy
  • Arrive radius, m 150

Save. Then New on Route stops:

  • Route East Riyadh evening run
  • Sequence 10
  • Outlet Riyadh Corner Market Main Outlet
  • Dwell, min 15
  • Window from, min 480
  • Window to, min 1020
  • Latitude 24.691
  • Longitude 46.685

Save. A second stop with Sequence 10 on the same route is refused. A second stop with the same Outlet on the same route is refused. There is still no trip.

Tip

Tick Disabled on the route later when it no longer runs: the card stays for history. A trip that names a disabled route is refused. Weekday departure times are a later card under Ribbon → Sales → Dictionaries → Delivery schedules. Saving the route does not create that card. Both Latitude and Longitude zero still saves: the stop has no pin. Fill the pin when the trip should compare the actual location to the planned one.
