Information register
Updated
An information register is a slice of values over time: a rate, a setting, a mapping. It is not a total. Documents do not "move" it. A script calls Set / SliceLast / SliceFirst / Delete on IInformationRegisterService.
Note
The posting boundary also guards information-register writes. A slice dated in a closed period is refused the same way a movement is.
Do not use an accumulation register for this. Accumulation adds deltas. Information replaces the slice.
The longer contract — periodicity, SliceLast, the IR_ table — is the information register. The runtime journal is SliceLast as of a date (a scrolling window of pages). Typing in a column's Values filter searches the whole slice, not the loaded page. It does not create or edit rows; Set / Delete and SliceFirst stay on the API and in scripts.
