Create a division
Updated
Create a division when employees, time sheets, or a warehouse need an organizational unit. Each division belongs to one legal entity and one division type.
Note
There is no extra button after Save. Saving writes no payroll and no stock. A division is not a warehouse; a store later points at it.
How to#
To create a division, open Ribbon → Organization → Dictionaries → Divisions.
Press New. Fill Name. Pick Legal entity and Division type. Leave Parent empty for a root division, or pick Parent to hang this unit under another. Save. The card receives an ID and the row appears in Divisions. Pay and stock stay as they are.
Legal entity may already be filled from Default legal entity under Ribbon → Organization → Settings → Organization settings. If the picker is still empty, create the company first — Create a legal entity.
Division type is picked from Ribbon → Organization → Dictionaries → Division types. If the picker is empty, create a type first — Create a division type.
Then open Ribbon → HR → Dictionaries → Employees and pick this Division on the person who works there — Create an employee.
Example
The stand already has Halyna Symonenko on Empiro Foods Distribution.
- Name Kyiv Packing
- Legal entity Empiro Foods Distribution
- Division type an existing type
- Parent empty
Save. An employee card can then pick Kyiv Packing.
Tip
Empty Parent is a root. Saving does not require Parent to belong to the same legal entity. A warehouse is a store that points at this division, not the division itself — Create a store.
