Recalculate ABC/XYZ

Updated

Recalculate when you need a fresh picture of who brings revenue (or stock) and how even that is. It is a scheme on a profile, not a document you post.

Note

Recalculate writes no stock, no reservation, and no purchase order. Classes land in ABC classification. Only Create purchase drafts writes a draft purchase order, and only after replenishment has a quantity to order.

How to#

To recalculate, open Ribbon → Sales → Settings → ABC profiles. Open a profile (seeded examples: items by revenue, or customers by revenue).

On the profile card, press Recalculate. Then open Ribbon → Sales → Registers → ABC classification and filter by the profile. A Disabled profile is refused by the button and skipped by the nightly job (02:00 UTC), which recalculates every enabled profile. Recalculation does not run on shipment.

Recalculate does not put the class on the item card. After sync, the phone shows the last snapshot on the item list, the customer list, the item and customer cards, and the order draft line next to balance and campaign. One enabled profile shows A/X; two show names so letters do not mix, for example Margin B · Revenue A/X. A disabled profile and an empty class do not appear. The phone does not recalculate.

To buy from the classes, on the profile card press Build replenishment, then Create purchase drafts. Drafts are only for items whose quantity to order is above zero and that already had a received receipt. Supplier, cell, and price come from that last receipt. Pressing again does not add a second draft until that one is Ordered.

Example

  • Window 12 months
  • Date 1 September 2026 (365 days)
  • Sold 365 pieces
  • Store balance 10
  • Cover, days 14 (cell A/X)

After Create purchase drafts:

  • Quantity to order 4

Same item, Mode Buy to order:

  • Quantity to order 0

Tip

ABC class bands live on Ribbon → Sales → Settings → ABC class bands — usually 0–80 / 80–95 / 95 and above. XYZ goes by coefficient of variation, 0–0.5 / 0.5–1 / 1+. Empty Item group on the profile means all items. A filled group calculates item classes only inside that group. On a customer profile the group has no effect. Band rows can use your own letters — Gold instead of A. ABC replenishment cells are Ribbon → Sales → Settings → ABC replenishment cells: one row per class pair, Mode Keep stock with Cover, days, or Buy to order (quantity to order is 0). Not set skips the cell. In the classification list, Manual ABC / Manual XYZ keeps that class on the next Recalculate (the score and share still update). Build replenishment and the ABC replenishment widget do not create an order. Add the widget with Customize → Add widget → ABC replenishment. Customer returns do not reduce demand: demand is realized and shipped invoices only.
