Record time off

Updated

Record a vacation, sick leave, or absence so a time sheet leaves those days at Hours 0. This card does not post pay.

Note

Time off does not accrue payroll and does not pay the employee. A covered day is filled with Hours 0 when you fill a timesheet. Accrue payroll is a later button on an Approved sheet — Run payroll.

How to#

To record time off, open Ribbon → HR → Dictionaries → Time off.

Press New. Fill Employee, Kind (Vacation, Sick, or Absence), From, and To. Name can stay empty: save fills it from the kind and the dates. Note can stay empty. Save. The window is stored. Hours on any open timesheet stay as they were until you fill that sheet.

Then open Ribbon → HR → Documents → Time sheets and press Fill standard week. Each day in this window gets Hours 0. The other weekdays keep the standard day length.

There is no posting button on this card. Save stores the window.

Example

  • Employee Halyna Symonenko
  • Kind Vacation
  • From 2 Feb 2026
  • To 3 Feb 2026

Save. Fill standard week on 1 Feb 2026–7 Feb 2026 writes Hours 0 on Monday and Tuesday. Lines shows 24 hours instead of 40.

Tip

Kind cannot be Work. Overlapping windows for one employee are refused. Record time off before you fill the week; a later fill keeps the zero hours on those days.
