StockAdjustment
Updated
A stock adjustment adds or writes off on-hand quantity. It does not recognise customer debt, supplier debt, or a counted variance.

BaseQuantity is hidden. It is filled on save from Quantity and Unit. Stock is posted from it when it is not zero. An empty Unit leaves it at zero, and the entered Quantity is posted instead.
Commands and states#
| State | Command | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Post adjustment | Posted. Stock changes by the signed base quantity. The line Cell is the cell when it is filled. An empty line Cell uses the header Cell. |
Post adjustment (PostStockAdjustment) is bound to Draft. Posted stays editable. Saving a changed Posted document replaces the Stock movements. The command refuses an empty Lines list. It sums negative base quantities by item and compares that sum with the header Cell. Posting then checks the cell the line will move, and free stock at that cell (on-hand minus quantity reserved by other documents). The stored captions match the names: Draft, Posted.
Registers#
On Posted, StockAdjustmentTx writes Stock: dimension Item, dimension Cell, resource Qty. A positive Qty adds stock. A negative Qty writes it off. The document writes no customer or supplier register.
After Posted, a surplus with Unit price or Amount is valued from those fields, and a surplus without them is valued at the current average. A shortage is valued from the stock decrease. When ledger settings exist and the header Cell has a legal entity, the journal debits the inventory write-off account and credits inventory for the shortage, and debits inventory and credits surplus income for the surplus. The two amounts stay separate.
