Accumulation register
Updated
An accumulation register stores quantities or amounts that documents move. A posting script writes a delta. The balance is the sum of the deltas for a cut.
Note
Cuts are dynamic analytics, not physical
dimensions, unless you will read raw movements filtered by that cut.GetBalanceAsyncalready re-aggregates analytics. A dimension is a schema column. An analytic is not.
Resources are the numbers. Analytics live in a global catalog and are reused across registers and models. Bind a foreign analytic by declaring the model dependency.
A balance on a date is ITotalsManager.GetBalanceAsync(register, resource, cut, onDate). Without a date it reads TB_ — the current total, which has no history.
Settings that change over time are an information register, not this kind. Virtual totals and custom report layouts are their own objects; this kind is the register a posting script writes.
