Create a vehicle

Create a vehicle when a delivery trip needs the van, truck, bike, or car that leaves the depot. Saving the card stores that unit; it does not start a trip.

Note

Save writes no trip. The van leaves on a delivery trip — Run a delivery trip. The person behind the wheel is a different card — Create a driver.

How to#

To create a vehicle, open Ribbon → Sales → Dictionaries → Vehicles.

Press New. Fill Name, Plate, and Kind. Kind is Van, Truck, Bike, or Car. Capacity qty and Capacity kg can stay empty or zero. Leave Disabled empty so the vehicle is live. Save. The card receives an ID, and the row appears in Vehicles. There is no extra button after Save. No trip is created.

Name is required, up to 160 characters. Plate is required, up to 32. On Save the plate is trimmed. Kind is required.

Then open Ribbon → Sales → Documents → Delivery trips. On a new trip, pick this Vehicle.

Save. The list shows Spare city van. A second card with Plate RUH 4821 is refused: that plate already belongs to Isuzu NPR refrigerated. Plate ruh 4821 is the same clash.

Tip

Tick Disabled later when this unit no longer runs: the card stays for history. A trip that names a disabled vehicle is refused. Two vehicles cannot share a plate even when the letters differ in case. Empty Capacity qty and Capacity kg still save.

If the command refuses#

What you see What to do
The save says to fill Name Fill Name. Spaces only do not count.
The save says to fill Plate Fill Plate. Spaces only do not count.
The save says to fill Kind Pick Kind: Van, Truck, Bike, or Car.
The save lists several required fields Fill Name, Plate, and Kind.
The save says capacity cannot be negative Set Capacity qty and Capacity kg to empty, zero, or a positive number.
The save says this Plate is already used by another vehicle Pick another Plate, or open that other vehicle. The match ignores letter case and uses the trimmed plate.
You expected a trip after Save The trip is a different document — Run a delivery trip.
