PayableRevaluation

Updated

A payable revaluation restates foreign-currency supplier debt at the rate on the document date. It does not change the amount owed in the supplier's currency. Receivables are not on this document; that is ReceivableRevaluation. There is no combined AR/AP revaluation. The next payment measures its realised difference against the new carrying value.

Commands and states#

State Command What happens
Draft Fill revaluation Lists every open foreign-currency supplier payable of the legal entity at the rate on the document date.
Draft Post revaluation Posted. Moves Payable AmountFunc by Difference.
Posted Cancel revaluation Back to Draft.

Fill revaluation (FillPayableRevaluation) and Post revaluation (PostPayableRevaluation) are bound to Draft. Cancel revaluation (CancelPayableRevaluation) is bound to Posted and asks for confirmation. Posted is read-only. The stored captions match the names: Draft, Posted.

A rise in the rate makes the payable larger, which is a loss. A zero Difference writes no movement. Saving the card does not post it.

Registers#

On Posted:

  • Payable resource AmountFunc plus Difference, by supplier, and by legal entity when the header has one (PayableRevaluationTx). Supplier-currency Amount is not moved.
  • GL when Legal entity is set and accounting settings exist (PayableRevaluationGLTx): a positive difference debit the exchange-loss account and credit payables; a negative difference debit payables and credit the exchange-gain account. Gains and losses of different suppliers are two sums, not netted. Empty FX accounts write no ledger legs; the register still moves.
