Menu

Updated

A menu item is how the user reaches an object. A new dictionary, document, register, form, report, or user command without one is installed and invisible.

Note

Menu/menu.json is an authoritative collection: an item deleted from the file is deleted from the database. Deleting any other object's file does not delete it from the database.

Items without templateMetaId are the model's own menu — visible to everyone on top of any interface template.

Hang every object item off the kind subgroup (Dictionaries, Documents, Registers, Reports), not off the model's root group. The ribbon draws one nesting level as columns. A subgroup inside a subgroup is not drawn as a column.

A dictionary command does not need a menu item — the button appears on the card.

Grafting an item into another model's group is an extension: a dependency, parentMetaId their group, your version bumped.

Interface templates (who sees which ribbon) are not a kind page. Items without a template belong to the model menu and are visible to everyone on top of any template.
