Set supplier prices

Updated

Give a supplier its own purchase prices from a date. Purchase orders of that supplier take them first, and the item card shows them under Supplier prices.

Note

A supplier price belongs to one supplier. The price of the same purchase type for everyone stays as it is and serves every other supplier. Receiving a purchase order at another price moves the supplier's price to that price from the receipt date, without a document.

How to#

To set prices, open Ribbon → Purchasing → Documents → Supplier price settings.

Press New. Choose Supplier: an empty Price type takes the supplier's purchase type. Change Date when the prices start later than today. In Prices, pick Item for each line: Unit takes the item's base unit and Price takes the supplier's price in effect on that date. Type the new Price, then Save.

Press Post supplier prices. The state becomes Posted. The message under the card counts the lines, and from the document date the purchase order of this supplier fills each Unit price with these prices through Fill prices.

To see them, open Ribbon → Inventory → Dictionaries → Items and open the item. Under the price types, Prices lists Supplier prices: one row per supplier, its type, the date the price runs from, the price and its unit. The rows are read-only here; the item's Price history shows the same rows with Supplier filled.

On a purchase order line, Supplier price shows the supplier's own price of the item on the order date while the order is not received. After Receive order the line keeps the price it was received against. When Unit price differs from the supplier's price, receiving the order makes Unit price the supplier's price from the order date.

Example

Purchase type Base purchase, price for everyone 100.

Supplier price setting for Sniezka, date 2 March:

  • Enamel, pcs 90
  • Enamel, box of 6 520

On 5 March:

  • Fill prices, supplier Sniezka 90
  • Fill prices, another supplier 100
  • Supplier prices on the item: Sniezka · Base purchase · from 2 March · 90 · pcs

Purchase order from Sniezka on 6 April at Unit price 94, received:

  • Supplier price on the line 90
  • Sniezka's price until 5 April 90
  • Sniezka's price from 6 April 94
  • Price for everyone 100

Tip

The supplier's purchase type is Price type on the supplier card. Empty means Default purchase price type in Inventory → Settings → Inventory settings, section Prices. A posted setting cannot go back to Draft: post a new one with the right price and the same date to replace a wrong price.
