MoneyTransfer

Updated

Moves money between the company's own cash desks and bank accounts: cash paid into the bank, cash taken from the bank, or a transfer between two bank accounts. Posting lowers the source balance, raises the target one, and debits the target ledger account against the source one.

LegalEntity, Currency, and Amount are required. Exactly one source: a desk or a bank account. Exactly one target: a desk or a bank account. Source and target must not be the same place. Currency must be the currency of the source. Empty Exchange rate means one and is refused when the document currency differs from the legal entity's.

Amount received and Target exchange rate are for currency exchange: what the target receives in its own currency, and the factor from that currency to the legal entity's. Both stay empty when both sides share the document currency. The command refuses an empty Amount received when the target currency differs, and it clears both fields when the currencies match.

ID comes from MoneyTransferSeq, which starts at 1000 and steps by 1.

Commands and states#

State Command What happens
Draft Post transfer Posted. Source balance falls by Amount. Target balance rises by Amount received when that is set, otherwise by Amount.

Post transfer (PostMoneyTransfer) is bound to Draft only. Posted is read-only. The stored captions match the names: Draft, Posted.

Registers#

On Posted:

  • CashBalance or BankBalance minus Amount on the source, plus Amount received or Amount on the target (MoneyTransferBalanceTx).
  • MoneyTransferGLTx writes GL when Legal entity is set, Amount is above zero, and the source and target resolve to different ledger accounts: debit the target, credit the source, at amount × exchange rate. Two places that share one ledger account move only the balances. When Amount received is set, the source leaves at its rate and the target arrives at its own; the gap is FX gain or loss when those accounts are set.
