Create a supplier

Updated

Create a supplier when a company sells to you and you will raise a purchase order against it. The card is the party the order names.

Note

Save on the supplier posts no stock, no payable, and no tax. A purchase order points at one supplier. The contract is a separate card — Fill a supplier contract.

How to#

To create a supplier, open Ribbon → Purchasing → Dictionaries → Suppliers.

Press New. Fill Name. Full name, Phone, Email, Tax reg. number, Price type, Currency, and Notes can stay empty. Leave Disabled off. Save. The card receives an ID and the row appears in Suppliers.

Empty Currency means the supplier bills in the buyer legal entity's currency. Fill Currency when the supplier bills in another currency. Fill Price type when this supplier has its own purchase prices; empty uses the item default. Tick Disabled later when you no longer order from this party: the card stays for history and settlements.

Then open Ribbon → Purchasing → Documents → Purchase orders. On a new order, pick this Supplier. The contract, if you use one, is picked on that order from Supplier contracts, not created here.

Example

The stand already has Gulf Beverage Wholesale.

  • Name Red Sea Packaging
  • Currency empty

Save. A purchase order that picks Red Sea Packaging bills in the buying legal entity's currency until you set Currency on this card.

Tip

Full name is the legal name for print forms. Name stays the short name you search for. A purchase order still needs an item, a unit, and a receiving cell after the supplier is stored.

If the command refuses#
